Should I Text My Ex?

Five short steps before you hit send. Fixed, rule-based checks that run on your device — no AI, no chat, and nobody reading it.

How this works

The same answers always give the same result. The checks are fixed rules, written down in advance — nothing guesses, and nothing reads your message but your own device.

Two answers settle it on their own: if you've been drinking, or the feeling is 8 or higher out of 10, the answer is don't send. Everything else depends on what the message is for, how recent things are, and what the draft check sees.

The three answers

Don't send this
The answer for anything that isn't logistics, and for any time you're drinking or above a 7. You can save the message unsent, start a 30-minute timer, or open your tracker.
Wait 24 hours, then re-run this
For messages that are genuine but mistimed — a clear apology or closure note, or logistics that needs another pass.
Sending can be reasonable
Only for logistics — belongings, money, housing, a shared obligation — when you're calm and the draft is short and clean.

Questions about this tool

Is my draft sent anywhere or stored?
No. The checks run in your browser. Your draft isn't sent to a server, isn't stored after you leave the page, and nobody sees it. The only exception is if you choose “Save it unsent” — then it's kept on this device only, until you delete it.
Is this AI?
No. It's a fixed set of rules written in advance. The same answers always give the same result, and nothing about your message leaves your device.
Why does it always say don't send when I've been drinking?
Because that rule holds every time. Nothing good gets sent drunk or at a 9 out of 10. What you want to say can still be true in the morning — and you can run the check again then.
When does it say sending is reasonable?
Only for logistics — belongings, money, housing, or something you still share — when you're calm, you haven't drafted and deleted it repeatedly, and the draft is short, plain and free of pressure phrases.
Can it tell me how she'll respond?
No. It doesn't predict anyone's response, and it takes no side on whether you should try to get back together. It only helps you decide whether to send this message now.
What is the unsent list?
A private place to keep what you wanted to say without sending it. It's stored only on this device, and you can delete any message, or all of them, at any time.
