How no contact works
No contact means a set stretch of time with no calls, texts, messages or meetups with your ex, so the urge to reach out can fade instead of being fed every few days.
It isn't a tactic and it isn't a punishment. It's space to stop checking, stop drafting, and get your days back. Whatever you end up wanting, the first weeks look the same: don't reach out.
30, 60 or 90 days?
- 30 days
- The standard starting goal. It covers the hardest first stretch, when the urge to reach out is strongest and most frequent.
- 60 days
- For when 30 feels within reach, or the relationship was long. More distance before you decide anything.
- 90 days
- For long relationships, or a pattern of breaking up and getting back together. It gives any decision time to settle.
What counts as contact
If you're counting days, count these:
- Calls and voice notes
- Texts, DMs and messages on any app
- Social media: likes, comments, reactions, and replying to her stories
- Meeting in person, including “just dropping something off”
- Asking friends about her
Story views: viewing her stories shows up on her side. If you want the strict version, count it.
Checking her profiles doesn't reach her, but most men count it when they're honest — it keeps things raw in the same way.

Check before you sendQuestions about the tracker
- Does my tracker data leave this browser?
- No. Your streak, check-ins and notes are saved only in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is sent to a server. You can download your data or delete it at any time from the “Your data” panel.
- What counts as contact?
- Calls, texts, DMs, social-media interaction, meeting in person, and asking friends about her. Viewing her stories counts if you want the strict version. Checking her profiles doesn't reach her, but most men count it when they're honest.
- Why is 30 days the default goal?
- Thirty days is the standard starting goal: long enough to get through the hardest first stretch, short enough to see the end of. When you reach it you can extend to 60 or 90 days without losing your history.
- What happens if I slip?
- Tap “I broke no contact” and answer one question. The counter restarts today, and your longest streak and total days without contact are kept. The days you already did still count.
- What if she contacts me first?
- She reaching out doesn't reset your counter — replying does, unless it's genuine logistics like belongings, money or a shared obligation. Before you answer, use the “Should I text my ex?” tool to check what your reply is really for.
- Can I use the tracker on my phone and my laptop?
- Each browser keeps its own tracker, and nothing syncs between them. Pick the one you'll have with you — usually your phone — and use that.
